Change the System
I am Ronald Pickrell, 22 years old. I finished Bachelor of Science in Customs Administration. It is really hard for me to start because my Alma matter is not that popular. But I can say that I am good in academics and I can assure that I am good in the field especially when it comes to handling other people.
I had hard times entering the bureau of customs because they want applicants from popular universities. And I can do nothing about that but to be frustrated, they did not set me for an interview, unlike others who came from well-known universities having low grades they still schedule them for an interview. And the sad part is; now it became a system, a system that is unfair and a system that will not give a chance to those people like me who are not from popular college. If you are not from well-known school or university sorry to tell you that you will always be an option and alternative that will just be hired if something went wrong. I want to change this system but as of now I can do nothing but to look for company that will give me a chance to prove who I am and what I’m capable of doing.
And I started to search a recruitment agency from the web. And I searched executive search firm Makati and it brought me to different recruitment agency reason for me to be able to apply in different companies. And luckily I was hired by a customs company and they give me a job that fits to my personality and especially to my career. I thank them for giving me an opportunity. Now I will pursue what I am doing and I will prove to them that school is just an instrument of learning, and just a plus factor not a measuring tool for who you are and how intelligent you are.
